im thinking of making my own colognes using essential oils.i found a dead simple recipe somewhere on the net for homemade perfume.all you need is vodka and EO.fill up the atomizer with vodka,and add essential oils of choice around 15-20% and let it sit for a month.anyone tried this method with good results?

No, but I'm in the process of making 3 different colognes (oil, water and alcohol) and I am going to report the processes. Big investment, but probably won't need to buy anything again and I know exactly whats in them.

Sorry you're right, you need Glyceryl Caprylate and Coco Glycoside to make it mix. You can also use witch hazel as well apparently. but yeah there is a "bridge".

I was thinking along the lines of traditional methods like rose water preparation, but am still subscribed nonetheless.

If you are following the directions from a website, please post it. I have been googling around to find a "recipe" , it seems there are different ways so I'm kind of confused. I have also created a thread asking about making our own cologne:

You have probably been looking at all the same places as I have. I am just going to try some different ways and discuss the silage and longevity of each one. I guess we could use this thread to discuss any tests? Do you have access to 95% Ethanol or the like? Was going to use vodka but managed to get some.

yeah I heard that you can use witch hazel..but it can destroy mones,no?

I'm just going to make them as a cover, are you wanting add money to your cologne? If so I misunderstood.

Some EO 's have stuff that might damage mines too. Was just going to spray mine on different points to be safe.

works beautifully! dead simple without nasty chemicals.all you need is vodka and throw in your essential oils of choice and let it sit for 2 weeks and you're ready to roll..i sprayed it on top of my mones apps and it hit hard and fast,just like regular colognes..and essential oils smell so real and so good
