I just found out about this stuff this last week, and ordered some.



I originally found out about it researching appetite suppressing herbs, so I can reduce my appetite without taking ephedrine hcl.

Turns out there are other interesting uses for it, not to mention effects.

I started by taking 500 mg yesterday, a really low dose. It is supposed to have stimulating effects at 2-5 grams and sedative, analgesic effects at higher doses. Depending on the strain you get, it can get pretty expensive at higher doses.

At 500 mg, I get a pretty crazy buzz within 30 minutes that lasts for hours. I like it, and it definitely suppressed my hunger. Not a lot, but I found I didn't think about eating much at all.

I took 4 grams last night an hour before bed, and got a euphoria. It was definitely sedating. I also noticed the analgesic effect. I've had some low back pain, from god-knows-where, all of a sudden the past few weeks and that all but disappeared.

Anyone else use this stuff?

Yes.

I used to use it after a painful workout. And then on the weekends. And then more frequently.

Just be careful with it. Whatever anyone says, it is definitely addictive and the withdrawals can be nasty. Thankfully I stopped before any serious addiction, but coming off was still unpleasant.

Know your source well. I'm sure some put actual opiates in their kratom for more powerful effects.

Edit: Sibutramine, if you can get it, is mcuh better for appetite suppression. If you want to go totally natural, intermittent fasting works for controlling hunger.

I have and still do.
The strains are red, green and white.
Generally:
Red are for pain relief & relaxation
Green for focus and mood
White for energy.

I'm not sure which one is bali but from your description, it seems to be red.

How much is 500mg? I take half a teaspoon, sometimes one.

I bought it to become more social because depression has led to isolate myself. I was very happy with Happy Hippo's but their prices is expensive, especially with shipping to Canada so I went for the second website which is not as good; but still better than no kratom. I will try a third vendor next time hoping I will find Happy Hippo's quality for cheaper.

The addiction subject is controversial among users. I never had it so maybe you can follow my strategy so you don't get it either.

- Start with low dosage (half a teaspoon) and build your way up until you find your sweet spot. Just like mones, the more is not better. -
- At the same time, take a day off every other day: so basically, you're consuming 3-4 times a week. Again, I'm not sure how much is 500mg (or 4g) but 4g sounds a lot; just make you sure don't build your tolerance fast.
- You only bought one strain but if you ever buy more than one, always cycle between them.
- Doing point 2 and 3 at the same time will help not to build tolerance.

Oh and remember to drink lots of water as kratom dehydrates.

When I bought from the first vendor, I wrote a journal for myself on microsoft word. I could create a journal thread for those who are interested. I wrote it to know which one is my favorite because your body may like some strains more than others.

I've been to the bathroom to piss four times in 2 hours - so, yeah it's definitely dehydrating. I thought it was my morning coffee, but this makes more sense.

I'd like to see the journal for sure!

Isn't that the drug Meridia? The US pulled it because of unacceptable heart attack and stroke risk.

Yes. It's likely a lot safer than ephedrine (no elevated heart rate and blood pressure in most people).

The study that resulted in sibutramine getting pulled in the US was based on a very small increase in risks compared to control on patients who were obese and already had cardiovascular issues. It's still in use outside the US.

I just weighed a 1/2 teaspoon, and it was 1.22g. So 500 mg was a little less than half that.

I looked into Bali, and some sites said that means it's usually Borneo. Whatever that means (I don't know, other than there was a season of Survivor filmed there, lol).

Sorry RT, I forgot about this post. I will post my journal this week.

There are many factors with kratom. Bali/Borneo is where it's harvested from. You also have Thai (although it's illegal in Thailand so it's not really from there) , Sumatra ,Malay, Kali, etc.

The second store that I have ordered from only sells Sumatras and Malay. It's probably why I find them weak as opposed to Happy Hippo. So either Sumatras and Malay don't do much for me or the quality of their kratom is low. If I check the ones I bought from Happy Hippo, they are Kali and borneo so either my body likes these more or maybe the owner of the website is right when he says that his products are of the highest (although all vendors claim that) because not only they hit me better but I also take 1/2 teaspoon as opposed to 1 teaspoon from the second website.

By the way, the reason of your purchase is to suppress appetite?

Pretty crazy stuff. Tastes like barley grass powder (to me) and hits me like a narcotic painkiller. I've found that at higher doses, my low back pain is less noticeable as well.

Yes, a lot of people use it for pain relief (red ones do that) and to withdraw from opiates. I initially bought it to become more social; otherwise I tend to isolate myself. This is why I'm not happy with my second purchase as it's not really helping.
