Cayenne, Coq10, paprika, taurine, glutamine, niacin are all good, magnesium will help too, you can get it in an oil format that if you rub on your skin should take away some pain. Always check side effects, especially if you have any other conditions, and don't go crazy with the dosage.

I highly suggest googling "Reverse hyperextensions herniated disc" for an exercise that I'm sure Joe Rogan from the UFC said helped his back.
