Video What about a knowledge base?
07-31-2011 6:31 PM

Hey peeps!

Even if I am the new guy, I hope I'm allowed to make a suggestion. Angel

What I'm sorta missing is a knowledge-base, containing stuff on the FAQs being asked all the time. A base on the different products could be a good idea too. Just a few thoughts:

- What does product X do? Is it a sexual attractant, a social lubricator or a hybrid? Is it easy to OD on? Is it ok for a beginner? What does it smell like?

- How should I dose my cologne? This one could probably be an additional question for the actual products.

- A theorie section, on dosing pheromones, body chemistry and skin types. Age of user and target could also be a subject, possibly even ethnic differences.

And I'm only getting started here. Sarcastic blum

I was quite amazed at how much information there is in this forum. The biggest problem is that this information is very fragmented. While I like dumb remarks (like "Did you remember to cover the hickey?") very much and know they are a part of making the conversations in every forum entertaining, skimming through them can be a drag if you are looking for something specific and you are forced to read complete threads. Another problem is that many posts and reports take a lot of knowledge for granted. I've noticed this when I read something like "This stuff is pretty much like X with a hint of Y and a big pinch of Z, minus the (whatever)." Without knowing the three products X, Y and Z, the reader is forced to read reports on these three before he (or she) can understand the post on the cologne he or she was really intested in. It gets really interesting if X, Y and Z are each described by comparing them to yet others. Crazy

I know this could result in a bit of work, but I am sure it would be worth it.

Cheers!
Chris

Tisha wrote a thread titled: "Are you new to Pheromones and have questions", which is stickied in the womens forum and would be a good start for you.

We should collect our experiences, especially regarding certain molecules, at some point. Like a few sentences describing every pheromone-molecule, in addition to the whole thread in "Name That Molecule".

Like a big FAQ especially on the newer Pheromones, like Pregnenolone, Androstenetrione, DHEA, Phenylethylamine, Cholecalciferol and others. At the moment it's not really necessary, i'd so say. You can easily just read the corresponding threads.

Yeah I agree at some point we should have a sticky describing the known molecules. A KB would be cool but likely a lot of work to curate.

Well, in any case we should then create a more general section. Tisha's post is really good but it is not specific to women. This forum is actually lacking a place where general questions, related to pheromones but not related to any vendor, are discussed. A sticky thread or two in that area - without any chit-chat within the thread - could do the trick.

Cheers!

Great suggestion regarding a knowledge base. Included could full names of acronyms such as:

PA, IOI, DHL, TL, etc.

I have learned most of the acronyms through reading posts, yet there are times that i do run across some that do stymie me.

There is so much valuable knowledge that I, myself have gathered from this forum, and i find virtually everyone here are completely willing to provide excellent guidance. I have never been a part of any type of forum before, what a wonderful first experience.

Thanks Everyone

It would also make sense to create a best of posts section, if not too much trouble to maintain. In most forums when reading archives the problem is that over time at some point the signal becomes swamped by the noise. Not all posts, and not all posters are created equal.

That's kind of what's been done with the Post Of The Month nominations, except it's the members who get to decide what posts are the best.
