Replacement for Jovan Ginseng for men (Vintage?)

Hey all,

I (and my father) can't stand 99% of colognes for men, they simply smell like perfume... I don't always want to smell like a woman, or metro at best.

I've got this old aftershave cologne I took from my grandfathers stash when he died, I love the way it smells. It's Jovan Ginseng (Not the NRG). I've smelled Jovan's current Ginseng NRG and it doesn't compare, this little 1/2oz bottle has been around longer than I have and I'm 26.

When I wear some Adidas cologne my friends' girlfriends compliment me, when I wear Jovan Ginseng their mothers compliment me. I'm not looking for cougars, but I like the status I get from this cologne. I swear It adds 20 years. There isn't much left, and I've been using it sparingly since '99 so I'm looking for a replacement.

I have a bunch of kid cologne (CK1, Adidas, etc) but I have nothing that can replace this when it's out.

Unrelated -- Women love when I wear my cheap Adidas cologne. It's not that good, it's not that fancy or expensive... But I get non-stop compliments when I wear it and a lot of lingering hugs. Not sure why, but it seems to really work for my chemistry I guess.

Interesting, well you do have to keep in mind that perfumes/colognes change as they age. I think the shelf life on any commercial scent before it changes is 6 months. If you want a dupe of what you have currently, that will last a bit longer, I suggest talking to Mara over at LPMP
She is listed as a pheromone retailer here, but she's been a perfumer for far longer than she's been retailing pheromones Smile

Very interesting, It never occurred to me that colognes would change as they age, I never really thought about it ! After re-reading my post I never really asked my question, just kinda told a story and left to do something -- Oops !

I'm looking for suggestions for more manly / musky type colognes. I don't have a particular preference, so long as it doesn't smell fruity, sweet or light. Nearly everything I've come in contact with I honestly feel is very feminine, which is fine, but not all the time.
