Hey folks, as some of you have probably noticed the nomination badges no longer appear in posts made and the Top Posts link has been removed from the header. We have decided to discontinue the Post of the Month nominations and posts indefinitely.

There are a number of reasons why it's been discontinued but the main ones are that we started the contests and nominations to encourage quality posting, and while there have been many terrific threads and posts made, the overall quality of all posting did not seem to increase, and several members suggested that after we incorporated the contests the quality of postings actually decreased and that they'd noticed some posts that seemed purely written in hopes of picking up nominations.

There were other reasons as well, such as limited sponsorship offers, and one member that we knew of actually PM'ing others asking for nominations for a thread they wrote and attempting to throw the contest.

So, for now and at least the forseeable future, we will not be running the post of the month contests, but will still look to find other fun little things we can do from time to time.
