Wow 800mcgs! Maybe I switched the two amines... I don't think it's possible but the effects I got were so over the top at 12.5mcg... I'll try out some of the stuff from the DMAA bottle I have to see what its story is.

I was interested in the effects of phenylethylamine so I got phenylalanine because this was before I knew that I could make my own pheromones. Will it work as a spray or no. Undecided

Phenylalanine is not on my personal list of suspects since I'm not aware of its having direct neuromodulatory or neurotransmitory effects.

HOWEVER, There's only one way to find out for sure Smile

If it were to have pheromonal activity, then that would substantially enlarge my list of suspects. Pioneer

Cmon dbot you should know better.
Its the same as spraying Ecstasy on me and saying " gee this makes a good pheromone".
You are exposing people without their consent to dangerous drugs.
And even worse promoting its use.

Phenylethylamine acts as a neurotransmitter and a neuromodulator.
Warning
Phenylethylamines are a very potent and physiologically altering substance. Though it has a short duration within the body, its effects are very well pronounced, and overly long exposure can lead to imbalances within the body's chemistry. Suspected accidental exposure should be answered with immediate medical assistance.

"Ecstasy is chemically related to amphetamine, and is a member of the phenethylamine family of drugs that includes the hallucinogens."

A classification of chemical compounds, most of which are psychoactive drugs. Beta-Phenethylamine is neurotransmitter in the brain, and it is believed to be the body's natural version of amphetamine.
Some drugs that fall into the phenethylamine classification include all amphetamines (as well as methylphenidate), ephedrine, designer hallucinogens (2C-B, 2C-I etc.), mescaline, bupropion (Wellbutrin), and venlafaxine (Effexor), as well as the amino acids (D/L)Phenylalanine and L-Tyrosine.

LSD and the phenethylamine hallucinogen DOI are potent partial agonists at 5-HT2A receptors on interneurons in rat piriform cortex.

Okay, your main sources about the effects of phenylethylamine are Wikipedia and eHow. I challenge you to find a scientific paper about the powerful drug effects of phenylethylamine in humans. I have not been able to. In fact, everything I've found has suggested that effects in humans are minimal, while effects in animals are dose-dependent, requiring doses as high as 30mg per kilogram of body weight.

Yes, MDMA belongs to a family of molecules called phenethylamines, of which phenylethylamine is the simplest. Mescaline also belongs to this family. LSD is properly classified an ergoline and more closely resembles a tryptamine than a phenethylamine.

However, the fact that you can make psychedelic drugs on top of the molecular base of phenylethylamine does not make it a psychedelic drug, just as the ability to make splenda out of the molecular base of sugar does not make sugar an artificial sweetener.

Phenylethylamine is an endogenous and easily metabolized substance that is present in many foods -- including chocolate and goat cheese -- in amounts not much lower than what I applied.

Also, note that all pheromones are neuromodulators which you are essentially administering to subjects without their knowledge. It's not the same as drugging people, because the effects are more specific and limited, and mimic (or take advantage of) a natural interpersonal mode of communication and/or influence. However, we are all operating in a moral gray area, and should exercise appropriate caution. That's why I'm testing for self-effects first.

That said, I generally don't see how you'd think it would be safer to apply androgens -- run that one through Wikipedia.

I'll give it a try then. Smile

I just wanted to point out that Ephedrine is an alkaloid derived from the Chinese herb Ma Hung (safely used to treat asthma for centuries). As long as you don't give Ephedrine/Pseudo-ephedrine to people with high blood pressure/diabetes or combine it with caffeine, it's perfectly safe to use.
