BTW, to anybody else following this thread, I don't have a discriminatory bone in my body: my first wife happens to have been a black women, and I've dated many other girls that were black or of other races But, no woman I've ever dated (or at least not for very long anyway) felt they were owed anything by anyone and they beleved that their successes or failures were based on thier merrits and capabilities, and not any percieved prejudice or that they deserved any kind of preferencial treatment.

But, I become very prejudiced against and offended by anybody that plays the race card, or insinuates that they can't succeed, are held back or otherwise penalized because they are being disrriminated against. That may have been true 50 years ago, but it is NOT true today and I am NOT responsible for what my ancstors may have done.

Obama, although I'm sure intentionally, has made his feeelings toward white americans known on a number of occasions, with speeches, bullet references and bills he passed. He has not only failed this country on virtually everything he promised, but also managed to more than double the federal deficit in his first 3 years in office and spent more than Bush and EVERY president before Bush combined, but even after he was voted in as POTUS he somehow believes that his race is still being discriminated against! The latest predictions are that if he is reelected by the time he leaves office the deficit will surpuss $20,000,0000,0000,000 (20 trillion dollars) or nearly $67,000 each that every man, woman and child in this country is responsible for!

The insanity has to stop!

I don't really like Romney, but given the choice I'd vote for PeeWee Herman before throwing my support behind Obama!

I think he'll find out that there is more bad news than the public has ever thought to ask about, soil himself, and maybe cry a little.

But I think Obama has already had that experience too.

I think Romney will (after coming to) have a pair of balls big enough to say what has to be said, and come up with a plan that doesn't involve the federal government being the dog in every fight.

I think he will attempt to move many current federal programs into a transition where each state will have a program, and control it, while the federal govt exits the stage. Not all programs are this way, but I think that many will take this role. The federal govt just doesn't need to tell states how to do stuff. They are very different. Like health care, If some states want government controlled health care to the tune of Obamacare, that's ok, they can do it on a state level. 50 states running experiments at the same time mean that we will learn what fails and works over 50 times faster. Making everyone march lock-step to a single unproven recipe sounds like guaranteed failure.

I don't think Romney is america's only hope.
Every Senator/Representative in the US congress can put forth plans for change. They have to vote on a bill and pass it before the President can sign it.

States have a big role to play as well. Many state governments only look to the federal government for legislation because if the Fed Gov legislates it, they can help fund it. Getting "free" money" makes it look good for these State Govt's. But in the end, they pay for it, plus extra for the extra layer of overhead that having it be a Federal instead of State program carries.

States need to stop sucking on the Federal Teat and seperate themselves so that they can audit themselves better.

So much money is wasted trying to make everyone follow the same rules.
I think some places need different rules especially between RURAL and URBAN communities.
- What good is a PRIUS on a farm? How many bales of hay can it hold?
- Gun laws can be very different in Montana and NYC. And they should be.
- Too Many Laws are made in D.C. They are a mega City, and don't always feel in touch with small town america, that's why we have local governments. So our 1 single vote can count, in a city of 20,000 people.

America has more than 1 hope. We just need to concentrate on local governments more.

Didn't it refer to 47% of people not paying Federal Income Tax, because they get it all back at the end of the year?
Didn't Romney say something like (not verbatim) "We can't lower 47% of the peoples taxes (federal income taxes) because they don't pay taxes."

The conversation it was in was to that point. And as such, I think it's true. Except for Romney's plan to increase JOBS. Then there is a chance if more people have jobs, maybe a few of the current 47% will get bumped into the "ACTUALLY PAY TAXES" category, and it may go down to 46% or lower.

I don't think 47% can be considered racist. It just means the poorest 47% of Americans, no minority has 47% of the US population.

And don't everyone "Mark & Kmacc" go getting madder about the government.

We can all be pissed off today, and later this week after the election results are in. There is enough bad government that it can't get fixed in 4 years, no matter who is elected.

And while I'll admit I'm a Romney fan, there are plenty who are and plenty who are Obama fans. Their right to an opinion makes them just like me, american.

It isn't the in your face issues that get me mad, abortion, racism, feminism, solar energy, NAFTA,

It is that these Congressmen (and women) leave their seats millionaires, and leave us in a bigger mess than when they got their.

The lobbying is full of terrible, terrible, secret underground deals that essentially sell the US government congress votes to the highest bidder. This is where we need accountability. It isn't the congressman that sells the votes either. It is the staff of the congressmen. The ones who actually read and write the 1000 page bills that get passed/or not passed. They sell their influence to lobbyists and in turn influence the Congressman they work for. Perhaps passing a 1000 page bill just because it has an earmark in it for a single lobbying corporation. Wasting billions in passing a bill that will make a single lobbying company a single million. This is a secret society that steals from us all, ran by lawyers and embezzled by staffers, it isn't Republicans or Democracts, it is both, the lobbyists buy votes on both sides all the time.

We need this to stop, and the person who can do it, and tries to do it, puts himself in great personal jeopardy. With his party, the other party, with powerful corporations, and with every little staffer who is on the take. God Bless the man who can stand up to corruption. May we all be that man, or woman.
