Nope, I'm fine using just the browser. I'm almost always on a desktop anyway.

I like the new ones. They have a really cool design, although the buttons are in a weird position. I kept on touching the area that actually lights up with the symbols - and that ist too high on the phone. People have told me that Sony's support really blows, meaning software-updates take forever - if they come at all. And since Sony devices aren't as common as Samsung or HTC (for example) the aftermarket firmwares are hard to get aswell.

I took my Galaxy Note because of the large screen. I have an eye condition and the large screen really is a blessing for that.

Me too. And i second that, their updates take forever, but i was able to find the stock firmware without much effort. Try XDA Developers forum. They have everything there!

I had to buy one, they're so nicely designed!

XdA was the first site I went to after buying my phone. To root the fucker and unlock the bootloader!

I will root mine in the near future, but not now, as i'm not 100% confident in my android-admin abilities. Only thing i did was to flash the new software (ICS).

I don't know about the Xpperia, but it's pretty easy on most phones. And flashing ROM's is a cakewalk.

And ICS is old news, Google has now released Jellybean, and there's already ports for a number of phones floating around. Although none seem to be really stable releases yet. I flashed one yesterday and it was far from ready for primetime.

I would also suggest getting ROM Toolbox, ClockWorkMod ROM Manager and Titanium Backup from Google Play, if you don't have them.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll take a look at those programs.

As for the Jellybean, I'd love to have it, but mine is an Xperia P, and Sony hasn't released (and probably will not release) JB for the Xperia 2012 family.

Oh well...

And even if Sony did, its then up to your carrier to decide whether they want to update the phone, and Verizon is notorious for not porting over new android builds. But, XDA developers port builds for most of the popular phones. Smile

Well, I was lucky to find a factory unlocked phone when i bought this one, so it is not linked to any carrier! The ROM i have in it is for Central Europe, so maybe, if someone decides to compile a JB for Xperias, i might be able to load it!

xda forum is awesome the time i had gotten an atrix 4g i hard bricked that sucker and everywhere i read said it was dead forever but after lots of searching and then finding xda and reading and following several difficult steps (spend like close to 10 hrs doing everything) i was able to bring my phone back from the dead
