It's too bad this product has a pentagram, name of a demon, and the number of the devil associated with it. Perhaps HAX should consider repackaging the same formula with a name and label that doesn't represent things that people like myself don't appreciate. Kinda like how Garry at LAL offers Voodoo "without witchy shit." I refuse to associate myself with that symbolism.

Exactly why me will never try it, even if they change the name at this point.
But who knows, maybe they have a huge customer base.

Makes you wonder who these people are... I agree with your assessment

Hold onto your beliefs loosely, and hold onto your truths tightly.

Lucifer...I love it!

You can view it from that perspective...like always.
You will get what you believe.

BTW:

As the good father reminds us: “The good news is that from the moment Jesus died on the cross, Satan lost. The battles go on, but the war’s been won. Christ is the exorcist.” That’s a comforting thought!

I love it when a plan comes together

Pentagram is not always Satanist...also monster energy got 666 written on it. Just marketing I guess...not like you make an alter for the and worship it. I think just rebranding their bottles to look dark and cool.lol If you look at all their black label designs...

Was thinking about this..too bad Nikki is not around anymore:/

Baphomet actually represents the union or balance between various dualities, not altogether dissimilar from Advaita or Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Not an exclusively evil character, though, so I don't get them stamping 666 next to the name.

Reading up a bit now, 666 is the "number of the beast," or "the devil's number." Kind of interesting since Baphomet is in one way meant to represent the union between human and animal, but then it seems like they really shouldn't have the number, because the whole motif is about balance between opposites. 666 without a number representing the other side, maybe the number 7 given what I'm reading on wikipedia, seems to be a disproportionate representation of the "bestial" side.

Kind of lame now honestly I'm disappointed reading the description on their site. Its like they spent literally zero time looking into the lore on this, or maybe they did but it wasn't consistent with their marketing strategy so they just went ahead and completely misrepresented the character.

Symbols are just that - symbols. Their meaning changes thru time and space. To a Roman slave on the run a cross would mean pain and death, while it is now for millions a sign of love and hope. Within very few years in the western world the swastika and the star of David exchanged there meanings of proud and shame (beside the fact that there is always a minority opinion). For all the time the buddhist would ornament their temples with swastikas. And I for sure would not buy anything with a swastika ornament, so we all have borders we don't cross.
So yes, they have been sloppy and maybe rude with the marketing. The question is: does it work as Mone? I rather use a good mone with a bad marketing than the other way around.

As usual, excellent commentary Marcus.

However, the very fact that the connotations and meanings implied with the name and labeling are being discussed bear witness to the fact that it is effective marketing.

There's a reason why Heavy Metal bands utilize demonic, gothic, and uncouth imagery in their lyrics and album art. I think in this instance, it is simply named that because they wanted to give the impression of it being dark, powerful, and mysterious...nothing more and nothing any more nefarious than it sounded like a cool name at the time.

Let's face it, if HAX had called it "Puppy Dogs & Rainbows" , nobody would ever try it.
