A far simpler explanation would be for the same reason that we like big round butts and wide hips; because they suggest high estrogen, which is also associated with fertility. This woman's article sounds like a pretty roundabout explanation.

The big question isn't why men like breasts (they're a uniquely human part of our sexual dimorphism. No other creature has enlarged breasts when not lactating.) The question is why human females initially evolved to look like they were constantly lactating. I suppose that'd indicate fertility, if they were feeding a kid. Or maybe there was a selective advantage to finding a man willing to mate with a woman who was caring for young.

Though this does bring up an interesting question; If fondness for breasts is a learned behavior related to pheromonal feedback in infants and not an instinctive and innate response we finally have a testable hypothesis and not just armchair speculation. Find the guys who are more or less attracted to larger breasts and see if they were, themselves, breastfed (and if so, for how long.)

A correlation THERE would be very interesting.

Or is the preference genetic? Men who preferred large breasted women are more likely to mate with them producing sons who prefer large breasted women till the two traits of mate preference in males and the bodily phenotype in females become linked, genetically.

So the testable part of this question seems to be to what extent the preference is genetic and to what extent the preference is learned.
