My anatomy teacher says melatonin supplements aren't good for you because the body already secretes it and it will throw your body off rhythm once your off it. I don't have a solution for the sleep problems but I believe melatonin will be counterproductive in the long run. I've tried it before and I gained a tolerance to it, taking 4-5 to get to sleep. I keep my schedules very flexible because of my sleep problems but I find that exercising helps with sleep and anxiety.

True for the excessively large doses typically used; not true for lower doses as 300mcg.

I don't think it's wise for me to fuck up my brain like this again .

Do you think it's worth me breaking pill into a quarter this time and trying again ? I have sleep apnea and am on meds for anxiety. I have also had depression in past though that is under control over last 2 years with meds.

good thing you chopped it down, I started at 5mg and was miserable for 3 days.

If you're in the US go to cvs/walgreens/walmart and look for the natures bounty 1mg and try chopping that in 4 pieces and see how that does for you. I use this $5 pill splitter:

Tried this for a few months without any success. Tried ___PM (any OTC I could find), Xanax, Lunesta, Ambien and one other that I can't recall the name of.

The only fix that worked for me was changing my habits and nightly lifestyle.

Like some already said, use mcgs not mgs. Everything above is only useful for anti-aging but will leave you groggy in the morning.
Some also say that it causes depression if taken too often. Don't know if the studies are trustable tho.
