Not sure this was the right place but no other place seemed more appropriate.

So who uses essential oils and how do you use them? As a fragrance? Therapeutically? In a synergistic mix with pheromones? All of the above? Some other way?

I use them as a fragrance. Been toying with making my own colognes and soaps lately. May try making home-made deodorant and air fresheners soon. There's a lot of recipes around the internet for those, and the important thing to me is being able to do away with a lot of the toxic chemicals that come from store bought products.

Applied 3 patchouli drops in work boots each. Masks the odour smell very well ever since.

I've recently acquired a bottle of essential oils in a roll-on from a company called Plant Therapy.

I have an aromatherapy machine. I mix some essential oils with some water and turn it on. It lights up, and it mists the oils into the room. I don't use it too often, but it sets the mood. I like vanilla and lavendar because they're calming, but any citrus I love. If you put them on your body, dilute them with oil. They could burn your skin or irritate your nasal passages otherwise. They're very volatile and react strongly with things.

My wife has recently started with Doterra oils in conjunction with her work (midwife). She's interested in the medicinal qualities. I'm more interested in just learning the various smells in pure form and how they combine with each other and with pheromones. Many of the aromatherapy uses are interesting. The old days at AD and Lovescent there was a lot of experimenting with EOs as part of all this. Instant Female Magic was originally done with clary sage because of it's effect which is thought to be complementary with androstadienone (and also to get around patent). Spaceland was combined with EOs that smelled a bit like weed and even the old A314 contained EOs as part of it's "magic". It was a patchouli smell for awhile then they moved to a more oriental oakmoss then to a more perfumey style just before they lost their minds and started putting AKUTO in everything. My old bottle from Lovescent has the oakmoss. It's amazing. I'm glad to see so much interest in EOs. I hope to learn a lot.

Some ways we are using them are combining with coconut oil to rub on the kids at night to help them recover from coughs and such. I'm using straight lemongrass on my joints for arthritis (not helping yet). We have a couple of diffusors (cold water humidifier type) for air fresheners (some oils are supposed to help kill germs. With the pheromones I'm just mixing a few drops with unscented mones in small 5 mil sprayers. Give them a shake every few days. Keep in mind that different oils will act differently as far as diffusion and sillage.
