An emotion that every living being must endure at some point. While the joys of life are wonderful, the sorrows of death are equally painful. Very strong evidence that animals have emotions too, though perhaps not as complex as ours.

Their emotions are very much as complex as ours. They just don't have the executive functions, the ability to form complex symbolic thought or to imagine the unimaginable. But emotionally, they are our equal.
