(12-04-2009 6:24 PM)Evan Buxbaum of cnn.com Wrote:  New York (CNN) -- Six months ago, a Long Island convenience store owner turned a would-be robbery into an act of compassion. On Wednesday, the shoplifter made amends with a $50 bill and a thank you letter for saving him from a life of crime.

Interesting story QG. I'm not sure how I feel about it but it makes one think.

Wow, I applaud the man for being able to look past his own fear and see the situation the robber was in. It wasn't right for the robber to attempt a robbery, but the store owner really upheld his own values I think. It's not often I hear about religious people actually using their faith to honestly try and help others, rather than simply condemn them unless they believe in their God.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma... which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
