maybe it´s not only me who had problems after they shopped with their credit card on the net ..

I´ve been hit several times from US car rating sites .. from Casinos at Malta ..

and and and ...

Some sites don´t provide PayPal .. and don´t provide Safer Pay ( where you need to have extra pass words and you´ll get a code on your mobile phone that you have to type in to proceed with the payment )

I know some Credit Card companies offer some virtual credict cards as well ..

but that´s not very common here in Germany ..

i remember that one guy here on the board recommended me to a site from the UK but i did not note it and forget about it ..

alright .. today i remembered that i was searching for some solutions in the past and did a search on the net for virtual credit cards ..

PayPal offered something like this in the past .. but the don´t anymore

what i´ve found today is this ..



i know it´s in German but they may have as well some english sites ..


who knows more about such payment options on the net ..

and who´s got some experience with such virtual credit cards ..

I was also scammed in 2010. It was the first time I was using that credit card and it happened just a couple of days after my purchase from a big mone company ...Yes, the fraudulent purchase was made to an online casino based in Malta.

After thinking about it, I switched to a virtual credit card from my bank and it's working very good till now.

I know Pago that the virtual credit cards are not common in Germany.

You may have 3 solutions :

1- Open a bank account in one of the adjacent countries. But in that case, you would need to be physically present with your documents for the opening of the account. In France, for example, most banks offer it.

2- Open an account with a financial institution that are trying to fill the gap by offering individuals virtual credit cards so they can safely buy on internet.

3- Maybe easiest solution : get a Visa Prepaid Card in Germany. You will still have to give the credit card number but if you are scammed, it would be only for the money that you have left in the prepaid card. So you can easily manage to get your losses very low in case you are scammed.

PS : I think Mywirecard that you have linked provide also a prepaid credit card and not a virtual credit card. But they are not a real bank.

I've found it very easy to use and perfectly safe. No idea if you can use it in Germany though.

The problem with most of the pre-paid Visa/Master/AmericanExpress gift cards is that they only work in US. So you can't use them to buy from someone like TruePheromones, which is a Canadian seller. I went through a long/painful (un-successful) process to buy from True, but gave up at the end.
The prepaid cards you get from Walmart will let you purchase from US merchants with the temporary card you get from the store. You then have to sign up and provide some details for the "real" card that can be used for non-US merchants.

We, as a community should encourage the vendors to provide PayPal as an option.
