I bought this before I knew one could purchase artificial pheromones.

It is a simple mix of natural deer musk, ambergris and civet, all of which have pheromonal compounds.

If you have smelled Serge Lutens Muscs Koublai Khan, it is a much more powerful and natural version of that. I love the smell of it, but it is practically unwearable in public without drawing the wrong kind of attention. The civet is very strong and one gets the occasional but unmistakable whiff of feline and human faeces. As disgusting as that sounds, it's a strangely addictive scent. You will attract some horny women who become fascinated by the smell, but you will have to be able to cope with the strong expressions of disgust you get from many others. It also made me feel incredibly sexual, like a horny tom cat.

I still remember the first time I wore it clearly. I put on a few dabs to my temples and walked on to a bus. Every single head in that bus turned to look my way. Similarly, in the library, I caught many women sneeking glances. I thought I'd found some mystical holy grail. Until I got back home and my sister screamed, "OH MY GOD, YOU REEK OF CAT SHIT! WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?!?"

A.

Edit: If you get it, let it settle for a few weeks before you wear it. The civet is far too strong to wear when the bottle is first opened.

Funny thing is, I just deleted the Bookmark for it last week; and it's been in my Bookmarks for more than 4 years.

I think I'll just wait for Voodoo to restock, Moe. Yu

Ruthvah was allegedly worn by Solomon. It has been noted to have been the favorite fragrance of Alistair Crowley.

Ruthvah is supposed to be a combination of Musk, Civet and Ambergris (one part of each).

Civit is mostly synthesized now. Ambergris was formerly highly valued by perfumers as a fixative (allowing the scent to last much longer), it has now largely been replaced by synthetics.

a 4oz vial of synthetic civet musk is no joke. I have the vial bubble wrapped inside a sealed ball pint jar, waaaay away from my nose and my dog.

Just opening the bottle will make your surrounding area smell like a zoo for a few hours. Spilling it would be unimaginable.

Reminds me a bit like the fox urine we use on hunting trips to cover our entry to the stands.

I had done some reading on ruthvah and its history awhile back. We made something similar awhile back called manimal and lava when I was playing around with ambroxan alot.
Manimal was the ruthvah clone and lava was Arone, Alpha Androstenol, and ambroxan, truffle mix.

The recipe seems to be straightforward as already noted and the 3 ingredients can loosely be compared to a similar phero trinity .

I dont like remaking stuff, but this was one I had to respect because of the roots it has in pheromones in general.
We used muscone for the deer musk, synth civet, and the ambergris clone ambroxan in a 11. All were synthetic as I could not guarantee humane environmental collection methods. I support the harvesting of animals for survival, not cosmetics.

It was more novelty than actually trying to develop something. We did not go smearing it all over our scalps like the manuscripts say they used to do. We just used it like a normal oil based phero app.

The sig was very subtle. It was a bit different than wearing mones as I know it. Kinda like eating a piece of sugar free candy. Its sweet but not really. Tastes like sugar but its not. The 3 ingredients combined has some form of natural scent synergy and that was the most interesting part. What a unique smell after dry down.

We though about spiking it with Pheromones but I moved onto figuring out amboxan and it kinda lost steam.

After looking so long into the future of mones I thought it was worth checking out and was rather fun diving back into history so some origins of our little hobby.

Edit: the ratio above is 1 : 1 : 1
for some reason not putting the spaces in 11 turns it into 11. Weird.

So is the "Manimal" oil that is now in the test kitchen related to this?
