Romance novels and seduction

Do any of you guys here read romance novels like harlequin romance? Secondly, I hear this is like chick crack to women. Have you ever applied similar themes and ideas to your seduction skills in real life? Did they work?

My ex wife (and several ex gf's/FWB's) all loved romance novels. Most of the women I've known were HUGE fans of Nora Roberts. Most of her books follow an almost identical path with different characters inserted. As a side note, most also have some sort of paranormal element to them. Anyhow, yes I have read several different romance novels and they all seem to have the same pattern of what women are looking for in their hero.

They want a guy who is ruggedly handsome (although not always), is self aware and brave, who has a sense of humor and is alpha but not an alphole. Quite often the protagonist is portrayed as a bit of a bad boy who is just looking for the right woman to 'tame' him. In other words, a guy who does his own thing and is secure on his own path but will take time out to be there when she needs him. That's different from the doormat guy who drops everything to be at her beck and call.

Without realizing it, I have always followed what the male heroes have been like on these romance novels. I live my life and if someone came along that interested me, I'd invite her along for the ride while still focusing on what was right for me. It's not about game playing or trying to show her what an alpha you are so much as living your life and if she wants to be compatible with that she'll also make the effort to be part of the fun. That's how a lot of those books are written. At the end, the guy lets her love him and opens up to her about how he really does care, etc. He loves her but he still has his boundaries and lets her be her.

“Funny guys are dangerous. They’ll make you laugh, and laugh, and laugh then boom, you are naked.”

Before you argue with someone, ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of differing perspectives?" If not, there's no point in arguing.

As you are probably aware, I am a huge advocate of reading ladies' romance novels and the so-called housewife-porn. Although not consciously cultured, my personal style and image seems to be exactly aligned with Snoopy's depiction.

While the story lines are quite a standard trope, so are our action-adventure novels and movies. It is how the story is told, not the story itself that makes the difference.

One thing is that not only does it give you a perfect example, with an infinitude of variations to allocate for personal protagonist styles and the settings of the novels, of women's ideals of the perfect men for them. This gives you several models and blueprints to compare yourself against so you can readily (if you can be truthful about yourself and your own qualities) improve yourself to be more aligned with what women want.

On top of that, a good amount of romance novels are written by women, for women. (as an aside, some men write ladies' romance novels under female pen names) This means that not only do you get to experience the (imagined) physicality of a desirable man, but that you also glean major insight to how a woman thinks, feels, hopes, and dreams along romantic routes; which allows you to understand them more so you can communicate with them better, as well as communicate to them that you are, indeed, what they desire.

Has it worked for me? While trying to not come off as a braggart, I can honestly say that my overall personality is right in line with the archetypal romance-novel handsome bad-boy rogue that seems to be the focus of the overwhelming majority of these types of literary pieces and that I can attract, swoon, seduce, and keep ladies with relative ease.

People are attracted to those things that resonate with their primal and most soul-consuming desires; I just happen to fit that fantasy garment much more often than not. The true enlightenment, I feel, comes from getting the glimpses of the female author's thoughts, feelings, and desires that become embodied in the heroine's thoughts, deeds, and feelings. the very fact that nearly all of these novels paint the perfect man in more or less the same broad strokes, shows one what women truly desire.

Romance novels tell us, in the written word, how ladies think, feel, act, and react, and what is in their heads (zombie, zombie) beneath the surface actions and words. They summarize exactly what women want. The so-called housewife porn, while usually lacking in the emotional aspects, details what women want out of sex. One can view them as how-to guides.

Edited for typos.

I would suggest Jackie Collins.
Its a bit dated now but they wont know the lines.
I used to use some of the lines in 50 shades...now theyd think I am quoting a book.

You may be better off wearing nutella, maybe some chick might want to lick it off

So you’re stating the male hero’s lines actually work for game in Jackie Collins books?

All lines "work" but Ms.Collins was quite the adept author and her stuff is truly golden from a word-smith point of view.

Whether or not a "line" will work is really more about how one projects themselves and the delivery. I've pikced up women opening with Monty Python lines, so most definitely would lines created to set a woman's desires alight be effective.

Some of the dialog is golden.

There is a chapter that starts with a thought about how surprising it was how a penis can shrivel in the shower.
Try using something like this in a dialog with a female prospect:

"You know Kate, Im always amazed at how my penis can shrivel in the shower...its like ..how can it grow so much and then it seem like its disappearing...Its like it has a mind of its own. Its like you wake up a D cup and then you look in the mirror and all you have is As"

Of course dont add the last bit if she has small titties.

A great follow up comes from the ross jeffries style with
"Have you ever blah blah (insert what you want her to start thinking about)".

I think age would also play a huge factor, most younger girls (25 and under) couldn't grasp the concept of romance these novels talk about
