Don't really care about how much rep I have but am curious on how it's totaled.
Are members only allowed to rep using the 'thank' feature?
Because whenever I try to rep someone via the 'rep member' feature under their rep score it gives me a pop up stating I don't have permission.

To use the reputation system you need to have at least 15 posts. This was done to prevent people from registering and going on a neg rep trip, as has happened over at pherootalk in the past. You can still receive reps, but cannot give them until you've reached the post count.

We also set the system up to allow you to give up to 1/100 of your total reps when repping someone. However, unlike pherotalk you can give or take away as many reps as you choose, up to your rep power.

We do not have reps associated with posts yet, but that is something I plan to work on.

When you use the thank button does that add rep points as well?

No, the thanks are tracked seperately and do not add to member reputations. I may try to incorporate it into the reputation system, but I'm not sure how difficult it would be at this time.

Unless this is something you want to do I don't think its all that necessary.
It makes sense on PheroTalk since rep amount can't be customized, but here that feature is wisely integrated.

I like the rep system here ;) Oh I get a message saying we all have to leave comments before we rep someone, is it compulsory? Does everyone have to do that?

Hi Sheila

No, darlin', it's not compulsory. I always sign and leave a comment and also like knowing who reps me. Some people prefer to leave a comment with no sig and there are some who do neither, no comment and no sig.

So, it's totally up to you!

Actually it is.  It wasn't at pherotalk and many times you'd get repped, without any clue as to who repped you.  With our system the name of the member that repped you will always show, and a comment is required.

No such thing as anonymous neg repping here.
