Quality Control and Batch Tracking
01-11-2019 1:08 PM

I would like to see some vendors start tracking batch codes and bottling dates.

It would be nice to see something like the following on the labels:
Batch Code: XYZ
Bottled On: 2018-01-05
Product Version: 1.0

I would be more likely to spend money on a vendor's products who did this.

Who does this? I know some perfumers do this. The 2018 bottle of A314 has this kind of sticker.

Unfortunately, we have seen batch ingredients change so radically that they made the product ineffective (i.e. MAG, A314, Red Dot Impi, AM, LIIK, M3X(?)). Even New Pheromone Additive -the LaCroy version changed their formula slightly. After a loud roaring outcry they changed it back.

We can't legislate it. But yes it is a good idea.

Perfume companies are known to do this regularly - without announcement of course.

Nutritional Supplement companies do this as well [and/or change suppliers and/or quality] never saying anything on the label. [Professional companies are much less guilty of this, but they charge much more]

It will help the community figure out if there is a bad batch and it will help the vendors too. Alpha Dream switched vendors for Androstenone a couple of years ago which threw off the product and AD has to make corrections to fix it. Would have been nice if the community could have seen what batch and bottle date were on their products were from when comparing results.

Also, what if a vendor has a bad supplier that gives a particular ingredient at a different strength without telling the vendor. Maybe this sort of information will help the community diagnose those types of issues.

We don't live in a perfect world. The more information the better.

i agree.

i am also willing to pay at least 10% more for something like this (and i dont have mony to spare at all)/

the quality of the product in this case is super important as it is the difference between amazing results and no results at all.
tracking the manufacturing process is an important step in quality control.

I put out this thread hoping that a vendor or two would notice it and start thinking about it.

Oh, Okay, I understand now. I agree with that. If we would get that info we would add it to our shop too!

But I do not think that it will happen Swoon But I will have this idea, for some other things..

Lacroy does it, at least with nnpa. There's a little sticker under the bottle with the batch date/production date on.

Vendors can also keep a log of which batches are selling the most/least volume to optimize their sales and what their customers think are the A level batches. Formula's of all batches should also be kept to ensure a reproduction of that batch at any time in the future. This is really a matter of quality control.
