Personally, I prefer not to have a cologne smell, so I usually do not wear a cover scent. Therefore I am wondering about the effects of cover scents and pheromones.

I have a few unscented blends from PXS and lots of samples. Even though they're unscented, they smell REALLY good to me. They're like candy. Taboo especially.

Usually I don't smell mones at all, so I'm hoping that they don't smell like cat piss to people around me. But I haven't gotten any comments or negative body language, and from what I hear, the unscented PXS blends don't have a bad smell to them.

The only one that smells bad to me is Ascend, and even that, I don't really mind it. It's just strong. I hate the smell of artificial scents, girly shampoos, perfumes, etc. I would rather smell a girl's natural musk as long as it's not too strong, to be honest, and I enjoy the effects that their pheromones have on me.

But I digress, that's background. Now to the questions.

Why are cover scents said to improve the effectiveness of pheromones? Is that just with certain blends? Is it because the cover scents identify you as the pheromone source? Or do they somehow aid in diffusion? That sounds like BS to me, so could anyone explain how a cover scent could aid diffusion?

I don't know for sure, someone will come in with better info. But from what I know at the very least it is supposed to cover the BO or other unpleasant smells that some mones give off to some people, and if it's a good cover scent then it encourages people to smell you more aggressively and therefore get bigger hits of your mones riding along with the cologne. That's how I think of it, anyway.

You may have the copulin version of ascend, thats why it can possibly smell bad for you.
