Hmm, I seem to recall someone hinting about a contest in January, I think!

OK, I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag!

On or before, or maybe just after the first of the month, depending on how quickly we can get the bugs worked out of a new script, you folks will start seeing badges in every post to "Nominate for Post of the Month". Now don't go hog wild and start nominating everybody for every post! Nominations should be reserved for only the most informative or beneficial posts, otherwise we may just have to retire them. Besides, if you start running around nominating every post in sight, you're only hurting your own chances of ending up the Top Dog at the end of the month, aren't you?

At the end of the month all posts will be tallied up and the post with the most nominations will be the winner, and we're going to try to give out a nice little something each month to the winners!

Offering vendors the chance to sponsor the monthly contests should also probably help almost guarantee that we can award something to the winner each month too.

And for January we've got something hella special in store for you folks, due to the extremely generous sponorship offer made from Justin at True Pheromones! We'll not have just one winner in the post of the month awards for January, but 9! And I believe that everyone will admit that the prizes True Pheromones is giving out are well worth the effort of posting something spectacular in January!

The numbers, from 1 to 5, do you mean first to fifth?

Yes, the numbers 1 -4 are 1st through 4th place and corresponding prizes. The 5 - 9 are 5th through 9th places and will each get the 'Gilroy' Pheromone Patch.

As to winning but not liking the prize won, well I'd have to say that's just how it goes. But, I would tend to think that if someone wins the first or second place and wanted to trade with one of the other winners, they would probably be more than willing to trade.

One more question, mark. Do the reports have to be a pheromone from TruePheromones(TP) to qualify for this contest or can it consist of other pheromones?. What about mixing other pheromones with TP pheromones?.

Don't even have to be reports! Any posts can be Nominated. But, it would be really nice if one or two of the winning posts are about True Pheromones.

Just a quick update:

The Nominations plugin we are having programmed still has a couple of bugs that need to be corrected, and we should be good to go in the next day or 2.

We really wanted to launch this on the 1st, but don't want to do so until everything is working perfectly.
