The dude here with a question for the group,

Need some advise here about using your mones with aftershaves. In short I know there are several things that can kill mone molecules (one that comes to mind is witch hazel).

However in the past few months I have purchased some aftershaves and wondering if the ingredients inside can kill mone molecules? Such ingredients like:

- Rose Water
- Alum
- Aloe Vera
- Glycerin

Rose water, alum and aloe vera are all natural antiseptics with anti-bacterial properties. Also many of these aftershaves contain Menthol to cool the skin.

Just wondering from the experts here, what are your thoughts?

I want to make sure that my aftershave won't cancel out my mone usage.

Not sure about the alum, but the others should be fine.

As with any (non-oil) mone, applying anything above that should weaken diffusion.

I've been wondering about that big time...considering the anti-bacterial properties had me think about this one.

I seem to have missed the antibacterial part.

Yes, all substances with antibacterial properties, however weak, will kill mones. However, at least in the case of witch hazel with aloe vera, even immediate application doesn't seem to weaken the mones. This will depend on how long the substance(s) in question lasts.

Thanks for the input, to be truthful I don't know the concentration of these ingredients in my aftershave. I think I can just apply the a/s directly on my face and mones on my neck.

It's been this concern of mine that I've been shaving at night to avoid all this.

damn i just made a batch of natural perfume.it contains grapefruit,neroli and sandalwood essential oils.these are all antibacterial..so my new fragrance would nuke the mones?

Alum is definitely anti-baterial.

My opinion is that it should not make the mones ineffective, but rather stop the conversion to other mones.
It would be great to have some people testing this.

Androtics default scent is neroli they also have a grapefruit... If you're worried try tom ford's neroli portofino line he has a lotion and body oil

Precisely what I was thinking. Also, how long do you really suppose the antibacterial effects remain active on the skin after applying aftershave? And if it's a concern, isn't it just easier to apply mones to an area that you don't shave?
