Even after a couple years after this internet policy had begun, we had never had any overage data charges because we didn't go over the data cap, but recently, AT&T told my mother that our internet had gone over the data limit and we were charged for the overage, not sure how much. I found that it is not just just AT&T, almost all internet services had become like this.

Taking a trip down the memory lane, I remember the good old days when there is no data allowance and we could use the internet freely for $20-$30 a month, and without the fear of being charged extra.

ISPs using this method to get rich, or has bandwidth become a scarce resource? Either way, it could be a nuisance to some people.
