How to get the best out of oils?
06-04-2013 1:01 AM

For some reason oil scents are not lasting that long on me, i've tried products from different companies including Love Potion, fragrancestore.
I can smell it for about an hour then very faint for another hour then nothing. I've even tried to do some exercise to increase body heat, still very faint.
I have noticed that my general body temp feels lower these days.

Did you try to apply some moisturizing lotion or unscented body oil underneath? That usually helps oil based fragrances to last longer on skin.
Just make sure you give the lotion few minutes to absorb, and then put the perfume oil on top of it.

I have dry skin so I have to normally use lotion anyway. Maybe I should change the lotion for something more natural based rather then the cheap store generic stuff?

For dry skin I'd suggest something thick and extra moisturizing, natural body butter would be a good choice. Cheapo lotions with water as their main ingredient rarely provide any long-term moisturizing effects.
Also body creams made using steam technology are great at moisturizing, I have several of those from different Korean brands and love each one. Those sink into skin faster than my normal body butter and leave it just as moisturized. Best ones are hard to get here in Europe though.
But if you are looking for an easy to get option, there are lots of brands that sell natural body products in US/Europe. Or you can make your own body cream if you have access to natural ingredients.

sometimes it doesn't help even if you apply lotion. It can be a personal chemistry issue. You can buy silicone from Love Potion called C5 base. Think it's $8-9 a bottle. Silicone does not sink into the skin, it sits on top. The other option is to wear it on your clothing.

Lotion for me - I find it prolongs scent and phero activity well.

For some reason today, the oil lasted for a good 4 hours and I could still smell it, looks like my body chemestry has changed again.
It's hay fever season, I take some antiallergy pills, could that really make a difference?

Fear is the greatest obstacle to learning but fear is your best friend. Fear is like fire, if you learn to control it, you let it work for you: it can warm you in the winter, give you light when you are in the dark, and produce energy. If you don’t control it, it’ll destroy you and everything around you.You must understand Fear so you can manipulate it, because if you don’t you won’t be able to achieve your objective or save your life. - Cus D'Amato (The trainer that made Mike Tyson a Champion)
