I'm with Paradox on this, be the man she wants to hug. Improve yourself and don't be "that guy friend". However I remember back in college I got one of these side hugs from a girl I liked a lot. The last time she pulled that was when I bumped my hip against hers and I said "get outta here" and laughed at her. She knew I was joking but not really. That's when it clicked it's a terrible idea to be friends with girls.

As soon as it clicked, it really is an awful idea to be friends with girls, I found those side hugs and butt out hugs went away.

Sorry, folks, but the guy chicks want to hug easily is a beta male - no sense of danger, too much comfort. You hug your mom, grandma, and SO/girlfriend.

This isn't fuckin rocket science. Anyway, you want a hug, make it happen. Simple as that.

In my experience girls will want to give long, tight and lingering to alpha males - providing they're in a situation where it's socially acceptable to do so. If you excite her, she'll be your horny little spider monkey and she'll murmur with pleasure and gyrate a little as she does it.

Of course she'll sometimes hug guy's she's not attracted too as well, but not as long or tightly... maybe even just a "side hug". There will be individual variation, but that's the trend

A beta male probably wouldn't use the opportunity of a hug to hold a girls butt with both hands and pull her hips into his own.

Agree with your second point. Just get on with it. You can get away with practically anything if its done with a confident smile.

I had a friend who was a skinny little shit, ugly as fuck, and a true beta. He bought a Firebird, and he'd go up to every girl he saw at work and say, "Hey, wanna see a really cool car?" Really friendly, really extroverted, cracking jokes all the time. Hugging all the time, trying to ask girls out. You should have seen their faces when he tried to escalate from the Friend Zone. Hilarious.

Same guy saw me getting close to his biggest crush. He came up to me and said, "We're friends, so I forbid you to fuck her." So I fucked her.

He wasn't happy.

Anyway, there are different types of alphas and betas, clearly. I'm not even going to get into the whole sigma thing. There are the playboy types, that would fit with the descriptions above where chicks LOVE to hug them, whatever. The alpha I'm referring to with the sexual intimidation, or just intimidation in general, are the Man's Man type - stoic and silent. The guy who pierces right through you with their gaze, and you can sense that slight dangerous edge to them. They smile, they'll laugh, but there's that presence.

If you'd like to know where you stand, go to a party and see if you can pick out the alphas. Then see how they treat you after a few interactions. Watch the betas, too, and see who they buddy-up to - also check to see who they stay away from. You should also notice lesser-alphas buddy up with the strong, stoic-silent-type alphas.

Anyway, none of this is anything but my opinion and observation - clearly not gospel, just sharing my experiences.

I don't really get many side hugs but my suggestion is calling them out on it in a joking ball busting way.

Like 15 years ago I was saying goodbye to two girls ans one of them side hugged me. I just blurted out, "oh awkward side hug." Walked over to her friend and was "let's show her how it's done, heart to heart." She was large chested and the first girl was flat. While still embraced with the second I pulled my face back but kept my chest on hers, "damn, you give the best hugs" (wink) Everyone laughed and the first girl felt stupid and never side hugged me again. Direct and playful like it doesn't bother you and she the weird one.

Worse than the side hug, to me, is the back tap. Like, there, there, ok are we done yet. I've called out a few on that one too.
