Well these 2 pics I took should save a whole bunch of explanation as to why people need to stay away from drinking tap water. This is probably the worst ive seen yet after distilling 1 gallon of tap water to 99% purity. Ive used this to distil bottled water before as an experiment and its not as bad, but you still get the fluoride out with visible gunk as in the pictures just not as much! Breath>Water>Food. ~Cheers, SoS.

Nasty! I've been looking at getting a Reverse osmosis water filter to save on having to go to the store and refilling water jugs every week. The tap water here seems to make every one sick.

I'm huge into water since I had some massive kidney stones.

I have a warm mist humidifier that I run with tap water. After just a few days the the heating element is literally caked with minerals... like its own little stone cover. I have to use a chisel to get it off.

I don't think an RO system is the answer for drinking water. I have had one for years. I switched over to bottled spring water and felt a difference. Supposedly, RO is so void that it can strip minerals from your body. Distilled is suppose to be worse. The new house Im moving into has a community well. I second the berkey systems...I'm going to do something like this if its too much to have spring water delivered to my home.

Anyway you go, drink water son!

Side note: I was looking at water delivery in my area and they actually sell a 5 gal bottle that is florinated. Seriously?! Made me not what to buy their product in case there was ever a mix up in the labeling. I did look it up on amazon and there are strips and meters one can buy that checks for fluoride levels.

The whole myth about distilled water stripping minerals from your body has never been proven, either way I simply add my own mineral solution to the water to be safe. This guy actually does a whole bunch of tests with the distiller and even explains the difference between the berkey and distiller; looks like distiller hands down imo.

The real sad thing is that they now sell water for infants with fluoride, it disgusts me.

1. This is why it is important to supplement with nascent iodine - protect your system from harmful halides.

2. Be it distilled or RO water, this is essentially "dead water" with no nutritional value. Add your own minerals to the water after distillation or RO before consumption. For anyone who reads my journal, you know what I add to each 1.5-litre bottle of distilled water before drinking it.

After a bit of google research the Topic of distilled water being safe to drink seems like its been argued about quite a bit but the side that seems to have more scientific backing (papers and citations) is the side saying that distilled water leaches minerals from your body and has been recorded as exiting through your urine. Doesn't sound like an imitate problem but more of a long term thing, bone density loss, heart problems, liver issues. Found one web site where body builders were using distilled water to lose weight before competitions.

And not 100% on this one yet after watching that video the guy talks alot about ORP and from what I can tell oxidation reduction potential (ORP) is kind of like PH in that you don't want it to be to high or to low.

But in the end "We are built to be dupes for theories. But theories come and go; experience stays."
Tsatsouline, Pavel

Back on track, they sell RO filters with canisters after the RO to balance the PH and add select minerals back in. Usually the filters with more stages.

Thanks for the vid...

I understand what you are saying... I can only speak from experience but I felt better drinking spring water after years of RO. What supplements do you add?

I'm not sure how to take adding supplements. I'm a whole real food kinda guy. Adding something man made when I can just have good ol natural water doesn't jive with me too much...
