I'm certain that part of her bloodline is shiba inu....but the ears are higher and more outward than a typical shiba. She's about 60 lbs so there's something else going on in the dna.

Ideas?

What a looker you got there. I love dogs. You just so happen to have one who is above standard. Maybe they have a larger one somewhere down the family line in the breeding. My friends dog is almost double the size of the standard breed size and it came from show dog breeders. So it just happens something in the DNA.

If you really want to know, then I would recommend that you DNA test her.



I used this test for my dogs because I was curious of their breeds and the results were very accurate. I have one pure breed and one dog that I thought was 50/50. I had my mixed breed tested and was very surprised by the results. I used my pure breed as a control case, and they got it right. The only thing your provide is the name of your dog and the approximate weight and a cheek swab. It was fun doing this test.

My mixed breed turned out to be 25% Australian Cattle Dog, 25% Chow, 25% Siberian Husky and 25% English Cocker Spaniel. He looks like he is 50% Lab and 50% Boarder Collie.

I'm thinking there could be a bit of Timber Wolf in her, cause I'm feeling wolf in those ears.

Looks like it has a lot of alaskan malamute in her. I can tell by the white eyebrows.

Def a dog with swirl.

As for the very forward, large ears they do look kinda japanese. All native japanese dogs have this feature such as shiba inus and Akitas. Probably an alaskan malamute/American Akita mix.

Love her! I have a Shiba, Red and white. The ears look bigger but the rest of her from what I can tell looks all Shiba. Maybe German Shepherd? Because of the ears?

Thanks, everyone! You know, those ears also look strikingly similar to a Korean Jindo. Anyone know anything about that breed?
