Derailing threads

I think we all have seen people derailing threads. Is it possible to move all the off topic discussion to a different thread or delete them after a while.

No, it's not possible to move posts between threads or into new threads and deleting them would be censorship.

Stop striving for PERFECTION, because the closer you get to achieving it the further away the goalpost moves. Instead, concentrate on PROGRESS, because you that you can meet and surpass every day!

But you've done this multiple times before, have you not?

Take dexter's thread, for example. An OT discussion on Androstenetrione was started there. You then moved all of these posts into a new thread. How is it any different with other threads?

I've done that once before at your request, in ONE thread and I told you how much of a pain in the ass it was to do! And, each of the posts involved were in a single thread discussing a single topic and moved into a single on topic thread.

Would it be possible to change the background colour of the OT posts? At least it would make it easier to identify and ignore for whoever does not want to read them.
I personally don't care. I read everything P

The forum software does not provide functionality to change the background color in posts or to move them between threads. To move the posts that Ekscentra asked to be moved I had to go into the actual database tables, search out each post ID and change the thread identifier for that post, then go into the thread table and change the post count for the thread, then I had to go into the admin panel and refresh the thread and post caches and recount forum statistics, then check to make sure that I didn't screw anything up.

Lets say the thread is about m3x, and people posted some off topic stuff. We create a new thread called m3x off topic and paste the off topic stuff on that thread. Then delete the off topic stuff from the main. Can be a pain, but definitely worth it.Idea

Perhaps there might be a way to make it more streamlined in the future, but for now the best thing we can do is be more mindful of when we're getting OT.

I have alluded to this before. Just like the voodoo thread. We had 40 pages of talk in a "review" thread, with maybe 5 reports?

Then Mark made that thread, voodoo related non-review thread and made an Explicitly review only thread. I think this is an effective route, when trying to read through threads about REVIEWS.

Hey, sorry, I need a killer first date mix. I was going to try some A314 but I heard it sucks now. What are your thoughts of AV vs AM? Or Old New Pheromone Additive vs New new new New Pheromone Additive? Any thoughts you guys have on anything other than derailing threads can be placed after my comment... Thanks every body! Blum

Am I the only person thats noticed that the AD hate threads are the only ones that stay on topic? Damn, AD how bad do you have to be before the hate gets so high that the human brain rewires its natural tendency to get distracted by any shiny object or thought and stays right on point that you guys suck. lol.

Pheromone Treasures: Capt, THU, GOA, Swoon, AOA, EFZ*, z69*
