Hi.

I would like to start working and stay employed.

There are four steps:

1- Get employed somewhere.

2- Identify a potential a**hole.

3- Stay in his favors.

4- Work well.


Wait . . . who ?

Well, it can be a manipulative coworker . . .

An incompetent superior . . .

Or just the top guy who's allowed to be carte-blanche a**hole because he allegedly gets stuff done.

Unbeatable, no matter what. Can't dodge, can't ignore, can't fight, can't report.


Maybe there won't be someone like that.

But if there is an a**hole in my team, I'm as good as fired ! Talking from experience.


What pheromones will get that guy on my side ??? PLEASE !!!

Wolf or BW, haven't used either but that's what reading forum would suggest. Forget the asshole and focus on people u do get along with

On another note, try to evolve a skill of being adaptable to peoole. Every person has an approach, just got to find it.
My warehouse manager seemed like an asshole at one time. Later I learned he respects hard work. So I learned to always work hard around him
That made him grow respect towards me and now we go out for beers occasionally

Your strategy is not really required in a caring organization that is doing well.

But it would be required in an organization that's going through restructure or
something like that.

I think ascend or dominant ascend is the best
this puts you in the same caliber

Earlier Rev32 of A314 was also good , current version not so much.

Wolf, C36 etc. are not effective enough I feel for this kind of scenario
because this kind of people don't get a that feeling that you are of
the same caliber of being unbeatable. Though they would be good in a
different work scenarios.

Great ! I happen to have Wolf and BW. Either wear low dosage not to provoke, or as much as possible to be feared and left alone.

But as I said, I'm not talking about difficult/severe people, nor about people you have the luxury to ignore.

I'm talking about alpha/aggressive personalities who will make things escalate no matter what you do. They will create conflict until you bend the knee and apologize for nothing, or you explode and they destroy you professionally/socially.

That kind of a**hole.

Indeed ! A good structure would be a wise aim.

Dominant Ascend. Alpha with care. Maybe, but as said by PheromonesXS:

"Careful though as there are those who will push back against being dominated regardless the level of care used."

I gotta have the guy settle down from the start !

Maybe I'm wrong but it sounds like a narcissist or other Cluster B type, these people are truly evil, its hard for most to understand unless one personally has been through this type of abuse. There are tons of videos on YouTube of people sharing their experiences and how to deal with them.

Thinking along the lines of BW, old A314..Something to make you feel grounded, observe and not react.

To deal with assholes at work, you need more than pheromones, because the truly devious ones who get away with murder need extra measures. You need to think Machiavellian.

Follow the pheromonal advice given, and have a look at resources on Machiavellianism. Also check within that site the various lists of Machiavellian Maxims.

This has helped me tremendously in developing a strategy for dealing with the pricks in my professional life.
