Abuse of power? I think so. I can understand no parent wanting their teenage daughter to be having sex, but I think this cop went way overboard in how he handled it.

I don't think he did enough, should have let him spend the night in a cell at least.

The next time the boy turned up at the girl's house, the cop should have simply answered the door in his underwear polishing his shotgun, and started off with the line, "son, come in, let me tell you about life..."

The cop should be locked up for abuse of power, false imprisonment, threats against personal safety etc etc etc

I do not think we are talking about that kind of cops. Though they both involve handcuffs and police uniforms they are not quite the same.
