Cash in a Crunch - To someone that can really use it
12-24-2011 4:35 PM

Hey folks, this may not be a lot, but we've got a little extra cash to hand out to a member that can really use it.

Terry, our preselected random member who has chosen the winner of the Christmas drawing has $25.00 he'd like to give to someone that can really use a little help, and I will kick in another $25.00 myself.

I know it's not a whole lot, but hey there's infommercials on TV every day asking for less money and saying that it will feed a hungry kid for a month.

So, without trying to pry to deep, tell us why you could really use an extra $50.00, and the member we decide that can use it the most has a little something coming to help them out.

If you would like to help out and contribute a little somthing as well, you can contibute to the fund by clicking on the link below, and we will insure that all monies contributed go to someone who can really use it and will appreciate the help.

OK, so call me stupid and kick me in the head! :dash2:

While thinking about how we could do something for someone that could use a bit of help, I didn't really think about people's feelings or that they may not be willing to share that their having problems.

We've all been there, and I'd be among the worst at not being willing to ask for help when I needed it most. I probably would have let myself starve to death before letting anyone know I was having problems.

And, if you're anything like me and cannot bring yourself to let people know about your situation or that your having problems and could really use a bit of help, please, please just PM me your story and I will post it for you anonymously, and if you are the chosen member we will not announce your name.

Very cool. I'm good now, but I've had weeks where food was a little tight, in those times $50 would have gone a LONG way.

Really cool of you guys, lets hope someone can put it to good use !

this is the reason i love this forum. i may not be rich and even though i didn't receive any christmas presents i don't really need this because i still had a great christmas with family and friends.

If no one here really needs it I believe it should be donated to some shelter so that they can feed some folks that really need it.

Whats a Christmas gift? It sounds vaguely familiar but I can't quite place it. Big Grin

I was actually thninking the same thing: that if nobody came up with a reason for needing it, and since Terry just wanted the money to go to someone that needed it more than him, I was thnking I'd offer to return the money to the one other person that donated, although just because of how quickly and selflessly they contibuted I doubt they would accept it, and that we would give the money to a kids or womens cause.

Just wanted to let everyone know that since nobody posted or made an attempt to stake a claim for the money we were looking to give out, I used it to make an anonymous donation to an emergency shelter for abused, abandoned and neglected children here in Dallas. Big Grin

I think that's a great thing, Mark. We definitely know they need it. *thumbs up*

For $50, we could have gotten them a bottle of Glace. Then, at least, they wouldn't be neglected.

Seriously though, cool move.
