I’ve been on this forum for quite a while and back then there was an opportunity to access journals (even made one myself). Now I’m not able to access any journals whatsoever (mine included). Any reason why, changed policies maybe?

Mark altered the criteria for being able to make new posts in certain areas, access the journals, and to post products for sale some years ago. It has nothing to do with how long somebody's been a member. While the policy is a pain in the keister for some positively contributing members, such as you, that are not extremely active, it does weed out a lot of duplicate entries, spamming, and stops a lot of problems that are, frankly, an administrative nightmare. I think you just need to make 3 or so more posts and the gates will unlock for you.

Ah I see. It makes sense, especially due to the increasing amount of new forum members who get banned quickly after registering.

Yes, there's the Alphole ® factor, as well as some other issues. Mainly, though, it's to prevent newer members from littering the site with duplicates and posts in the wrong places until they learn the structure of our community
