Anyone take probiotics?

Curious about your experiences. What products would you recommend for overall intestinal health & as an aid in weight loss?

I had this probiotic milk called yakult. The thing is that since probiotics is alot of bacteria (the good ones) you may have diarrhea from it. (Diarrhea is the body's way of ejecting bacteria from the digestive tract). For intestinal health, just have fiber in your diet (vegetables and such) for a better GI tract.

Check out:

and what I would order:

Either the 25 billion, or 50 billion...comes in capsules or powder (if you do shakes, for instance).

Also, see this recent study highlighted by Suppversity.com:

I take 50 billion.. I have noticed my stomach is much flatter now with less bloat. I also notice acne is less.

this one has some strains found in no other products to which initial studies (real studies) suggest very beneficial effects. I'd say this is the top-notch product on the market today.

It is is though that the microbiom is a highly individual thing with unciuntable factors determining the composition. Without testing your own flora, it's not given that all supplemented strains will be good for you.

I've never gotten any benefit from pills, personally. I'd go with some kind of refrigerated cultured food. Most yogurts aren't actually cultured any more. Activia is helpful on the rare occasions when I'm sick. That's the one thing that I've really noticed results with. When I'm healthy, as Cali mentioned, I mostly try to get plenty of vegetable fiber.

Check out the work done by Professor Tim Spector of King's College London (highly reputable university) on this. He's written a book about the lack of food diversity in diet (primarily caused by processed foods which have very limited ingredients). Microbes in the gut need the diversity of foods, when this is not provided the body continues to crave, despite being full, which then leads to over eating and obesity. His research informs him that this is the primary reason for the modern global obesity epidemic.
His book also adds evidence to the idea of Intermittent fasting.

I'm usually on some sort of probiotic supplement but never stick with the same brand consistently and generally the effects are hit and miss.

I'm also big into green powders but usually swap brands a lot with those, as well.

However, I found this stuff called Green Vibrance that has a ton of green shit in it along with 25 Billion probiotics and this is the first time I have really been able to tell a difference in my health as a result of a green drink/probiotics.

I usually suffer from severe brain fog, indigestion, constipation, sleeplessness and a host of other maladies. Typical of the western diet, I tend to eat mostly things I can consume on the go which lends itself well to over-processed fake foods.

About 3 weeks ago I started using the Green Vibrance in a morning smoothie and within a day or so I started to feel like my body was waking up. It was a very odd sensation but welcomed all the same. For the first time in a long time it was like my mind was awaking with my body instead of being on a several hour delay.

I think it runs about $39 a month which isn't too unreasonable if you figure your getting a pretty heavy dose of raw grasses along with a stout blend of probiotics.

If you're looking to give something a whirl for 30 days this one definitely has my vote.
